Founded in Nordhausen in 1932, the trading company specializes in the sale, rental, and maintenance of construction machinery and equipment.

Our History

In 1932 businessman Kurt König founded a construction equipment dealership in Nordhausen.

After WWII, the company relocated to Einbeck, Germany (official founding of the modern GmbH on 1 Sept 1945), laying the foundation for present-day Kurt König Baumaschinen.

1976 — Founder Kurt König passed away unexpectedly. His wife (Ilse König) took over the trading business, while their son took over the production company.

1999–2005 — International expansion beyond Germany: daughter companies established in Poland (1999), Latvia (2004), and Lithuania (2005).

Since 2017 — Company entered digital era: launched a tool-rental & sharing platform kurts toolbox, offering equipment rental via app; opened modern “construction-store” formats; and in 2022 inaugurated a new “innovation location” (with 24/7-style self-service) and rolled out an online shop.

2026 — Estonia launch: The company enters the Estonian market with e-shop sales operations, with the objective of developing a complete rental, sales, and service structure in the near term.
